    Two Faux Columns?

    I have a layout which I'm building out which has two content areas, the left main area and a right ad column.

    Since there will be instances where the left will be deeper and some where the right is deeper. I have setup the left column to cover the whole width. The right column's bg color overlays it, but the content will not always be full in the right ad column, so how do I force it down vertically, so it connects with the footer?

    Here is my structure...
    Code:
    <body id="main">

    <div id="container">

        <div id="masthead"></div>

        <div id="content">
            <div id="left">
            <div id="sidebar"></div>
        </div>

        <p class="clearer"></p>

        <div id="footer"></div>

    </div>

    </body>

    </html>
    Thanks

    HI,

    Unless I'm missing something in your example the thats just a simple 2 column layout which can be done with a simple background image on the main container.

    e.g.

    You can of course include any spacing/borders on the image itself to create the illusion.

    I can't see that your layout in essence is any different to the above.
