Favicon in rss - how do you do it?

    Hello,

I'm trying to find out how to put a favicon in an rss feed. I have found it's easy to do in Atom using this tag: xml.icon('http://www.near-time.net/images/shared/favicon.ico')

but I cannot find the equivelent in rss.

Does any know how to format this in rss?

    Thanks for your help.

RSS readers should display the favicon automatically if you put it at the root of your site.

Hey - thanks - didn't know it was that simple. So in the rails world would that favicon (public/favicon.ico) have to reside in the public directory? I already have a favicon in that directory and it doesn't show in feed readers.

That's the right place. Some feed readers display it but some don't. I think Bloglines displays it, but I'm not sure.

That's up to the reader software/user agent really. Firefox will auto-display a favicon (if /favicon.ico is there) even if you don't specify it in your code on HTML pages for example, which some people like and some people hate.
