    CSS Expert Required...

    Hi,

I'm not an expert with CSS - I've picked up enough to do some clever things, and enough to get by.

I've got a problem on my site, and I wonder if someone with a greater knowledge than me could take a look at see if they can help me solve it.

I'm working towards a two-column, pure CSS site. The problem I have is that the first element on the page doesn't always sit flush top-left. Occasionally it slips down the page as the page is being rendered. This happens in IE5 and 6.

Please take a look (here's the stylesheet)and let me know if you can see what's wrong.

Thanks for your time and attention...

    Rich

    IE6, Win2k, 17" @ 1024x768, 56k

Hard to say because in IE6 everything seemed OK and nothing was slipping down anywhere!

I had the slide down in IE5 as well.
Unfortunately your Css is more advanced than mine,
so i can't help you there.
I hope someone else here can.

Cheers guys - thanks for trying, and for the positive feedback about the design.

If there's anyone out there using Netscape or Opera, etc, could you take a look and let me know what you see.

    Cheers

Opera 6 is fine, even holds up pretty well at zoom 150%. (the recommended read box begins to encroach on the left hand content.) When zooming, the content in recommended read disappears and have to reload. (small detail, most people already have the zoom set and will not be a problem.)

Netscape 6.2, major disaster. your content is way to right, and recommended read is on top of it. navigation bar still on left.

Thanks for the info (and screenshot). I guess I need to do a little more work before being so adventurous.

    Back to the drawing board

    Thanks
