word press help
This is a pretty general question. I will just ask away...
I have designed this site for my bike racing team and I now need to find away to manage some of the content and most have recommended wordpress.
The things I need it to do ::
Results page :: the results to be presented in a list
date - race - name -place
Also, race and place need to go onto home page ( see layout )
News on main page::
Blog style news on main page with a limit to entries on main page, older moved to news page. Also, just the title and first 2 lines of entry on main page with link to full story.
Multiple users :: I also want to have a few different "bloggers" update results and add news articles.
Does this sound doable with wordpress... I also want to use my own design and layout.
Here is example :: http://www.humanzoomracing.com/home_1.html
Thanks in advance.

I'd say that yes, most things are doable in WP.
The first thing you want is just a layout exercise, perhaps using a text widget?
The news on the first page with limits is simple enough to achieve, especially with the use of the "more" button.
You can have multiple users and bloggers - it's an admin option.
So yes. It's doable.

Wordpress is the best solution for your site. You will need to customize it to do what you want. I have seen post in this forum with some good plugins for wordpress.

okay
Thanks. I thought wordpress was pretty versatile.
The example link I provided is actually the site I designed and built the page with css. I want to use that as the layout.
I will look more into WP. I have not found a really good example of solution for displaying dynamic race results - which would be on the home page is a simple form and also on their own page as a list.
I will look deeper.... thanks.

OK. I see what you mean now.
Like bicyclenerd want to show snippets of news articles (essentially blog posts) on a section of the front page but I also want to have the posts in full on the news page.
Any ideas how I can get these two bits of functionality?
