    Cool MyWebRevenue.com

    www.MyWebRevenue.com

Just a little background: I'm out of high school for the summer and have been working on this little project in the hopes of making some money through adsense. The home page of the site is unique content created by myself. All the other articles are public domain which I found on the internet for free. I plan on placing adsense in the right hand column where it says "ads". I'm trying to get this site up and making money before school starts again so I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank You.

-is it possible I could make money from this site?
-is the lack of original content going to hinder my progress with the search engines?
-did I choose a good domain name?
    -do the colors work together?
    -how is the browser compatability?
    -any other tips?

    Thanks!

-does the site look trustworthy? Not really
-is the navigation clear? Yes, but needs work
    -good domain name?? Yes
-colors and possible image use: Needs work
-browser compatability: Only tested in IE 5 on Win XP
-any tips for filling the white space?? pictures, cell padding/spacing

    Good:
    - domain name
    - idea for site
    - Content

    Bad:
    - Color needs work
    - Navigation needs work...on the home page it is at the center of the page and then on step #1 page it moves over to the left.
    - Navigation needs additonal work...on the home page the navigation "sticks out" at each end but on step #1 page it is inline with the orange bar...
    - Title is placed in ackward place...needs work...needs to look more inviting
    - Table borders turned on...I think they should be turned off...
    - Needs pictures
    - The XHTML and CSS links tell you that you need some more work..

Hope this helps and gets you started...

Depending on the browser and its size the title changes position and size. How can I stop this??

-does the site look trustworthy? The name puts me off
    -is the navigation clear? Yes
-good domain name?? No, it seems a bit dodgy.
-colors and possible image use the colours do add to the trust, though i'd say orange makes me wary, especially with the name - a green or safer colour scheme might help.
-browser compatability Messed up in firefox
-any tips for filling the white space?? Diagrams? Clear graphics.

Strange choice of colour ... If you really like purple, go for a lighter shade.

I am guessing you do not have a header yet?? If you plan to keep the pure white header, than I would reconsider.

You ask about trustworthy ... well, at the moment it looks unfinished, and that is a big trust issue - I would not do anything with a site which does not look finished, and overstates the simplicity of design. Try to fit in some pictures - text alone is greate for the SEs, but not so great for the visitors.

Consider left side menu, not just top.

Not really; it is too simplistic. You tried with your chosen colors too have a formal look but you failed with that.
    -is the navigation clear?
Good headers. Maybe some more eye candy? Bold with a hover?
    -good domain name??
    GREAT domain name
    -colors and possible image use
Like i said before, wrong colors.. I just don't like these. Too much MS Frontpage 98
    -browser compatability
Works with IE 6, IE 7 and Firefox 2

-any tips for filling the white space??
Try to give the text in the right column much more line-spacing. 1,5-2x times font-size. It will be read way more easy.

    -does the site look trustworthy?
Trustorthy enough to give you cash? - Nah,
Trustorthy enough to read on? - Yip,

    -is the navigation clear?
Contrast between current page and background could be better

    -good domain name??
who knows only time will tell

    -colors and possible image use
Not my taste in colours, bit sickly that gold and the blue is a bit well "blue"

    -browser compatability
    Firefoxed Ok

-any tips for filling the white space??
    Content LoL (sorry)

    Hope it works out!
What am I going to do with this

    Thanks for all the reviews

How can I make the website look more professional? For a small content site like this I am reluctant to buy an expensive template. Any solutions?

    Curtis,

What program are you using to design your site?

Also, I am with the other comments, a color change would be good. I have always liked the medium and dark blues.

As for templates, they are not very expensive. $10 or $20 dollars on ebay you can buy a bundle of them.

Good luck and don't give up.

    -Ron

The colours maybe need a bit of work, however I guess that the message of your site is more important, personally I only took about 10 seconds looking at the site and did not get the messege. I would advise you to work on your copy. Read http://www.useit.com/alertbox/9710a.html

It's an old article but still relevant today.

the site was ok.. maybe try to put a logo so that the viewer knows what site they are viewing.. Try also to use some readable text, my suggestion just try the verdana, arial fonts it will also looks better if you try to put some images that will describe your site.

I am sorry to say your site needs tons of work. You need to change the colors completely. I unfortunately think a very young person designed this site not a professional. Do not use MS front Page to design this site. The problem with that program is that it is does not produce a compliant code and on many occasions it will not complete tags correctly. I would suggest something else like Dreamweaver or do it by hand. The column on the left lends itself to making the copy get lost in its vast height. I think you should sit down with some other people in the advertising business to get a better idea on what your audience may need to stay at your site. Logo makes the site look untrustworthy not the design. Also when designing a site from scratch like this I would have come up with several themes and put them out for review instead of just one. Sorry for the harshness but it is needed. Your site needs tons of work.

Well, the title reads: "Cold Co. by Free Css Templates" => trustworthy equals 0.

Follow hyperdude's advices above and get wordpress and a nice looking wordpress template and customise that to your liking.

And also, forget MS Frontpage as thechasboi said, if you don't know html/css yet learn it over at htmldog and get yourself notepad2

Try some deep colour schemes, its too light and airy right now.
    Money is bad =dark (lol)

The logo and background is shoddy, please really work on it cause
this is not going to do you any favours.

Plus the lack of content at present doesn't give us much to go on.
Ask for another review once you have some stuff up there, we can
then critique the site as a whole not just a design and idea.

Hope this helps and best of luck, sounds like a good idea for a website.

    Andy
