How does everyone feel about this?

I read about that a few days ago and admittedly I know nothing about her, what she blogs about or the people who threatened her, but of course this is not a good thing, people need to relax.

Also, from Tim O'Reilly: http://radar.oreilly.com/archives/20..._a_blog_1.html

It's a real shame. She had one of the blogs I always ensured I read each day. Her posts were well-thought out and passionate about what they were covering. Because of the immature acts of a few creeps, that avenue of information and concepts is going to change, if not go away entirely. A real loss to those who enjoy that kind of thinking.
I can't see what good a blogging code of conduct would do though? There will always be users who choose not to follow it. Even if large blogging sites such as blogger.com were to adopt the conduct and enforce it, what difference would it make if whats been(being) done here is already illegal and therefore against the TOS already? The blogosphere would never be completely covered as many host their blogs themselves.
