Putting a password on PhpMyadmin for a MySQL database

Hi, I've installed PHPMyadmin but I'm stuck when I want to add a password.
In the docs they tell me to fill in the variables: stduser and stdpass, which I do, but when I go to my site, I get the following error:

Access denied for user: 'infrared@213.244.169.59' (Using password: YES)

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

Just setup a .htaccess password for the
foler you have phpAdmin in.
Thats what i did.
