windows vista and php install
I am thinking of buying a windows vista home edition OS and i need to install php server on it so that i can do php stuff... does vista home support php server or would it be better to go with XP pro?

There is no php server per se ... You just need to install Apache, then PHP and you should be up and running.

Im running one of my laptops with apache + PHP on vista, no problems so far, only been going 3 weeks though.

What ever you do, do not use Microsofts IIS for PHP development... It sucks

I had some troubles with my development install of apache and php...I don't know what was up but some things just were not working. I think it had something to do with account permissions but even running apache as Admin didn't help PHP to much.
*Is currently dual booting XP and Vista now*
