    Smile XML -> PosgreSQL

    Hi i have to parse a GPX file ( XML type file ) through PHP to parse the data ( extract the data ) and ingest that into a PostgreSQL database. The parse or api should be able to process the GPX file and insert the data values into a PostgreSQL database. At this stage i am not concerned about the back end, rather the parsing on the client side, i want to be able to parse the content and display the actual data maybe in table format. Please if anyone can point me to the right direction.

    Thanks

    PHP4 or PHP5 ?

    Look at the XML APIs in the docs, there are plenty of examples there also.

    Thanks for the help i have managed to get some help in the parsing, it seemed that i was having trouble with the GLOBALS placing.

    To take a step further i am looking to write some formulae (which i have ) into PHP which will convert parts of the data LATITUDES and LONGITUDES into NORTHING and EASTINGS ( BRITISH NATIONAL GRID ) FORMAT.

    If anyone would actually point me to the right direction it would be helpful?
    Thanks
