    flash mysteriously screws up

    http://houseoffilm.com/gemar.html

    I have a flash header that sits up in the white space.

    It was working fine, no problems at all. It works fine if I preview it in the browser from dreamweaver.

    But take a look in FF and IE. No flash there. And IE has a popup stating an error on line 29.

    I tried removing the line but to no avail.

    This is the trouble segment:

    Code:
    <body style="margin-top:0;" >
    <table width="780" align="center" cellpadding="10">
      <tr>
        <td height="175"><script type="text/javascript">
    </script>
      <script type="text/javascript">
    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0','width','750','height','150','align','middle','src','gehead','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer','movie','gehead' ); //end AC code
    </script><noscript><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="750" height="150" align="middle">
        <param name="movie" value="gehead.swf" />
        <param name="quality" value="high" />
        <embed src="gehead.swf" width="750" height="150" align="middle" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed>
      </object></noscript></td>
    and within that segment I think the trouble code is:

    Code:
    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0','width','750','height','150','align','middle','src','gehead','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer','movie','gehead' ); //end AC code

    Did you upload the Scripts folder that DW creates when you insert flash onto a page?

    hmm nope, but I have never done so before and didn't change anything with the flash. I'll take a look for one.

    This goes back to a court case with Microsoft and the way that IE is allowed to handle the playing of flash... http://msdn.microsoft.com/ieupdate/default.aspx

    To compensate DW now adds a js file to make sure that the flash is visible when you view the page in a browser - what it doesn't do it make it clear that you need to upload that script folder :-)
