    one time popup

I know this has to be simple but I can't figure it out or find the answer anywhere...
On a page in my site, I have an "onLoad=popUp()"
It calls a small window every time the visitor hits that page. How can I make the popup pop up ONLY the first time the user hits that page THAT DAY?

I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks so much.

Here is a link to a script at JavaScriptkit that launches a window when you leave a page, but it could easily be changed to pop the window when you enter by changing the onUnLoad to onLoad. It uses a cookie to determine if they have already been to the page in the same browser session and will not popup the window if they have. If they shut down their browser the cookie gets deleted then when they bring there browser up again and go to that page it will popup the window again. It is a little different then what you requested, but you might be able to modify it to work for you.
