Is anyone having any problems with CuteFTP 4.0? I have had the same problem on 2 different computers, 2 different OS's (NT & 98), 2 different licensed copies of the program, going to 2 different websites on 2 different hosts. The software seems to go berserk and starts creating a cascade of directories within directories within directories, all the same......anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

Haven't been having the same problem as yourself, but have been having problems with CuteFTP 4.0 where it hangs at retrieving directory listing.
I reinstalled it and it seems to work for several days but it's back doing it again now.

Wow, that's weird. Why not try contacting to author? I'd reccomend WS_FTP or FTP Explorer anyday...

Yeah, that's weird. Since it didn't work by reinstalling it, I suggest you try WS_FTP. Get it from download.com. I have it, and it works fine for me.

I'd use AceFTP if you are looking for a new FTP client. WS_FTP and CuteFTP are OK, but nothing compared to AceFTP.
You can also get AceFTP at download.com

I've never tried CuteFTP since I've always used LeapFTP. I think that this FTP client is one of the most reliable on this planet.

I use CuteFTP 3.5 - I could never get 4 to work right. (And the fact that they limited use to 7 days AND showed ads, really bugged me. One or the other, please!)

Goosh.
In terms of features and reliance, for both the advance user and beginner, smartftp is the only choice!
I've gone in search for a good ftp for months! Trying amost everyone!
And yes, i tried aceftp, but due to my high expectations of a ftp rpogram, it wasn't suitable for me.
try smartftp now! http://www.smartftp.com

Cannot find server...
That is *not* a good sign :-)
Downloading LeapFTP.
I have WS_FTP and have used it for over one year...but I cannot browse the network to find files. I have all my web docs on the local web server...but must use FTP to get them to the ISP.
Supposedly Leap has a "resume" feature.

I've used WS_FTP for transferring my very first file, and have only used another else one other time...that was CuteFTP because I needed to delete a ton of old files all at once, and WS_FTP makes you empty a folder before deleting - ugh!
With all these glowing recommendations, though, I'll give AceFTP a whirl.
