    Exclamation + Firefox / IE Spacing?

    Hey guys,

    I'm currently working on a personal site and have run into a issue...

    http://www.s15401.gridserver.com/

    In IE the A in the righthand column is spaced properly from the top. However in Firefox the A is right up against the top.

    Can anyone explain how this might be happeneing and a solution?

    Thanks,
    Mario

    Because of IE's white-space bug. White space bug revisited--the definitive fix

    Why do you have two <ul>s there with one <li> each? Why not one <ul> with two <li>s?

    Please fix your XHTML errors.

    Why should you avoid using tables for layout?

    Thank you I will try that fix.

    There are 2 UL's because their Dropdowns, click on any of the A's, there will be about 20 of them.

    Thats where the bigger problem is, when the UL's are opened.

    Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    1) Being dropdowns is irrelevant. The markup should come first. The JavaScript can be changed if needed. In this case it doesn't need to be changed.
    Code:
    							<ul>
    							  <li><span onClick="view(this);"><img src="images/a_letter.gif" width="10" height="13" border="0" alt="" /></span>
    								<ul>
    								  <li class="drop_down_text"><img src="images/arrow.gif" width="13" height="15" border="0" alt="" align="left" />Sub-Topic</li>
    								  <li class="drop_down_text"><img src="images/arrow.gif" width="13" height="15" border="0" alt="" align="left" />Sub-Topic</li>
    								  <li class="drop_down_text"><img src="images/arrow.gif" width="13" height="15" border="0" alt="" align="left" />Sub-Topic</li>

    								</ul>
    							  </li>
    							  <li><span onClick="view(this);"><img src="images/a_letter.gif" width="10" height="13" border="0" alt="" /></span>
    								<ul>
    								  <li class="drop_down_text"><img src="images/arrow.gif" width="13" height="15" border="0" alt="" align="left" />Sub-Topic</li>
    								  <li class="drop_down_text"><img src="images/arrow.gif" width="13" height="15" border="0" alt="" align="left" />Sub-Topic</li>

    								  <li class="drop_down_text"><img src="images/arrow.gif" width="13" height="15" border="0" alt="" align="left" />Sub-Topic</li>
    								</ul>
    							  </li>
    							</ul>
    2) I am concerned that your code is not following JavaScript Best Practices I recommend you read up on them.

    3) I suggest you use background images instead of those <img> elements.
