    Uploading Video via. php

    Hi there,

I am coding for a client a site like youtube and I need to be able to upload videos via the user interface.

What would be the best way to do this and anyone any code they could give me for a progress bar (AJAX) ?

    Thanks

    Steven

I believe that you tube use a simple web-based uploading system - there is no progress bar or any indication of how long the upload is going to take.

I should think that the best way is to use a simple PHP upload script but I don't think you will be able to get a progress bar.

Alternatively you could look at using a java applet, this would allow you to have a progress bar and a more friendly interface, though it would rely on the clients browser supporting java.

    Regards

Thanks for the link east cost, I will probably use the second one out of the two.

If else fails, I will use a simple html/php upload which the client said would be no problem.

Anyone got anything else to say before I start coding in 12 hours time?

    Thanks

    Steven

Thanks, I have now decided to go for AJAX.

    Thanks,
    Steven
