my png's got jaggies in IE

    Hi,

I am not referring to alpha transparency - simply on or off transparency.
Does internet explorer render gif's properly - or on the edges of the images does it get all pixelated like with the png's?

    Cheers,

Your GIF is most likely matted to particular background color and on a different background edge pixels will be visible as a "halo".
By the way - PNGs can work exactly like GIF images, they don't "get all pixelated". Only 24bit PNG images are displayed improperly in IE6. The 8bit ones are fine.

    Hi,

I should have given a reference website to show the problem :

In firefox the transparent background images work well but in IE you can notice the pixels on the outside of the visible area..

I see what you mean in IE6 but it's OK in IE7 so does seem to be something to do with the format of the file. Have you tried saving it as a GIF instead?
