So definitely Australia, Newzealand, Sri Lanka, and South Africa will be in the SEMI's.

Are you sure? I think Australia is still too strong a team for NZ.

I think so too, I just didn't want to be too cocky in case we lost.

NZ is playing extremely well. I would love to see them beat Australia. Actually I would love to see them win the finals (Unless SA is in the finals!)

Having said that, I don't think there has been a team as formidable as Australia, in performance, since the West Indies team of the 80's. They are such a class act and it seems like they do easily what other teams struggle to do.

I don't think we're going to see another WI of the 80's again. We have too much in-fighting now. The Badians don't like the Trinis. The Trinis don't like the Jamaicans. The Jamaicans don't like the Grenadians... and on and on...

If the team isn't united and fighting on the same side, we've already half-defeated ourselves.

    For example => Aus - 233/3, 35.2 Overs, RR 6.59 => 350+ ???

But the semi betn Aus & SA would be interesting probably ... Aussies will win probably, but the proteas are going to give a nice fight ...

It'll be Australia without a doubt...I mean look at that team!

After the Pakistan team fiasco, I've lost faith in my country's cricket...poor Bob, poor team, poor us.

MATTHEW Hayden's third century of the tournament helped Australia extend its World Cup unbeaten run to 27 matches with a record, 215-run Super Eights thrashing of New Zealand today (AEST).
I didn't expect that. Australia are in brilliant form.

Some one told...I think it's Viv Richards..that the only things that can beat Australia is 'food poisoning' or 'New Zealand on their day'.

I guess he got it half wrong already........

Terrible. The Blacks just can't comprehend consistency.

Flemmings out was an unfortunate one, but that's what I'm always telling, we need to introduce 3rd upmires in all close calls, and players should be given the right to challenge a decision if they feel so.

But then, Australia is indeed a very strong team silentcollision, don't feel bad. It's not that blacks are not consistent, it's that they faced a team called Australia. Remember last WC? India won all their games till the final, only to be thrashed by the Australians there. Its not for nothing that ppl tells at times - when it's cricket, australians are no more humans, they're robots !!!

Typical. England put in their best performance of the tournament playing the West Indies when there's nothing to win. If only Fletcher had gone earlier perhaps we may have been in with a chance. Peter Moores is no mug and I reckon he could put us back on the rails. I like to think that todays performance was down to a few people realising that he would drop them unless they got their fingers out and that it is a good omen for the future.

The ones that learn by reading.
The few who learn by observation.
The rest of us have to pee on the electric fence.

Australia beat South Africa by 7 wickets and are now in the final vs. Sri Lanka.

McGrath was amazing. What a champion bowler.

Gotta respect the Aussies for the most blistering cricket I have seen - EVER!
(and being English that's not saying too much but hey!)

    Australia to win.

Yeah, Australia has the world cup already, and quite rightly deserve it. I don't see how they can loose to Sri Lanka unless Jayasuria dismantles Tait and McGrath.

But... being the South Africa fan that I am, I would be glad to see the Aussies scratching their heads and looking at the ball sailing over the ropes. Go Sri Lanka!

Well, i will also probably vote for Australia, no one can question their cricket supremacy, but given Sri lanka's current form, winning the final may not be as easy as winning the semi. I won't be that surprised if the SLs win the match as well. Last time when the SL won the cup, it was defeating the Aussies in the final, shouldn't forget that, and this time they have a far better bowling attack. Hmmm ...
