I'm gonna go with Australia. I just think their strength in depth is going to be too much for the other countries to handle.
Sadly I think my own country will bottle it (as we always seem to do in major sporting events!)

I love the England team but really they haven't had a world cup winning squad for the past several years now.
Australia has the depth, so does SA, till #9!
SA and AU are the two pioneering teams in world cricket. With Jonty as the fielding coach, they are bound to save 30 runs each game.

I would want Australia to win!
I'm going for England (Surprise Surprise). Not only because I think that we could win on merit but also because I think the Aussie bowling attack isn't going to be what it was for a few years to come given all the retirements

Hope for England but think Aus.
West Indies and I am serious about this pick. SA will fall out in the Super 8s. WI, AUS, PAK, IND, SL are my favs.
Hopefully Australia. We didn't have the best lead up to the WC though.
Of all the established teams, WI is probably the most unpredictable. I sure hope they kick some butt! I'd like to see Lara break a few records.
Australia should win. India, Sri Lanka, New zealand and South Africa are other good possibilities.
Now speaking about Sri Lanka and New Zealand, remember guys how these two teams were some years ago? We had three teams at the bottom then, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Zimbabwe, now the Zimbs are still there, but the other two have improved their game remarkably, so much so that the Lankans won the world cup already once and the other one sweeped away the mighty Australians a few days ago.
The other serious team today is South Africa, had also been a surprise. When I started watching this game, the South Africans were banned for some weird reason, and I never heard of them as a cricket playing nation. Till one day I saw a tall and terrific guy called Allen Donald bowling with some real fiery pace to the Indian batsmen (first tour after their rebirth). So much has changed during the last two decades ...
I am sure in a decade or two todays minnows like Scotland or Bangladesh will start winning world cup as well ...
But then, if there's one team really unlucky, that's the British team. These guys invented the game, and ironically, could never win the cup, even after being in the final a few times.
I had to do the patriotic thing and vote for New Zealand.
My theory is that that South Africa, England, Australia et al will suffer more injuries than the Kiwis. The result will be New Zealand bowling to guys in plaster casts. This way we might win?

But I agree, yes, beating the aussies is really tough. They are simply too strong. Besides, they also have a different playing ethic than most of the team. Marco Materazzi's style. Though I don't support this kind of spirit, important is that they win most of the matches, and ICC don't have any rule regarding that yet. So ...

I just found out today that Australia will be playing Holland (where I'm from) on Sunday, I wonder who will win
I didn't even know that Holland had a national Cricket team until a couple of months ago.
Yeah, today kiwis are facing the brits. Kiwis will win, I guess, given that the Brits don't play good cricket any more as they used to do in the past.

Another match, New Zealand vs. England. English bowlers are looking good, currently 45-3 (england bowling) and also the last two English batsmen surprised everyone. I think England has a chance in this game.
Australia might be a good team but it's not the best. According to the ODI rankings, South Africa is #1.
Anyways, the top 8 look good for this world cup...
