    setting root and user password

    Hi,

I am wondering why when I type mysql -h 'myservername' -u root -p, it does not require a password, however if I type mysql -h localhost -u root -p, it does? I am just concerned whether I am leaving a hole somewhere for a hacker to access my server, or is everything as it should be?

I'm not sure what the difference is - I would appreciate it if someone could enlighten me!

    Cheers

    Jake
