    Quotes changed on page

    Hi all,
I had a script error on my page http://tntmom.com/index.html

When I looked at the source, all the " were changed to "
and all the ' were changed to '

Is this causing my error, why did this happen, and how to fix it?

    Hi Tracy,

Yep that is what is causing the errors. Somewhere along the line you or your editor (FrontPage inserted the HTML code for quotes where you meant to have actual quotes.

The surest remedy is to edit the page in Notepad and replace all miscreant codes with the actual quotes.

If you are using FrontPage, you cannot paste code onto the page area; you need to go into the View-HTML area and paste your code there. Better yet, get GlobalScape's cuteHTML -- it's free, doesn't hold your hand, nor presume it knows better than you -- in other words, unlike FP, Dreamweaver, etal., it treats you like an intelligent human being and not a child (I couldn't help that

I have used a variety of editors and ftp programs, so I can't be sure who the culprit is.

I use dreamweaver, html-kit, cpanel's editor, and notpad. Also, WTP Le.

    Hi Tracy,

I've never used any of them (other than notepad). All I can say is -- using one editor at a time -- write or paste something, save it, open it with notepad and check the quotes. Notepad only shows what you have; it doesn't make any changes -- if none of the editors are to blame, check your ftp program -- though I seriously doubt it is the cause.

Another thought: if this is the first time this has happened, perhaps the code you pasted is the problem; that is, maybe they had the HTML code rather than the actual quotes.
