    IE Stalling w/iframes?

I know this isn't the perfect forum for this, but I'm hoping we have an answer anyway (-:

I have a PHP page with 9 iframes on it. I'm having some trouble with Internet Explorer / win32. The page _ALWAYS_ loads properly in Netscape/Mozilla/IEMac, but sometimes it just stalls when loading the page on a Winbox.

The frames just don't load.. IE stops making requests.. any idea why? It's happening on more than one box. (IE5.5 and IE6)

    Thanks.

What happens if you reduce the number?

it stalls after the first couple.. so, if I reduce it down to the first couple, it'll work.. but that's not the design..

if I hit reload enough times, it'll come up.
    very strange.

it wasn't happening in the HTML prototype we did.. just the php one (same number of iframes).

I just turned HTTP Keep-Alives "OFF" on the server.. and it seems to be working perfectly now..
how heavy, on the server, is it to turn keep-alives off?

I take it you are using Apache

In some cases this has been shown to result in an almost 50% speedup in latency times for HTML documents with many images
    That's all I found
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod...html#keepalive

    ouch. (-:
    heh.

unfortunately, our "other" setup option (Debian/Apache) is not viable for this application -- the client has some weirdass document / data integration system that needs Windows..
