Private Message Read Receipts

Before the forum upgrade, there was an option for us mere mortals (read: regular forum members) to request read receipts for private messages by default. Now that the forum has been upgraded, this is no longer an option. Is there a plan to bring this feature back, or is it now a staff-only option? If it's the latter, I'm really going to miss it, as I rely on it a lot (and I don't always remember to click "Request a read receipt for this message." before sending a PM).

It's there, but in the different form - you have to check the box under the message body field ("Request a read receipt for this message").

Hi Arthur (and once again, happy birthday). I stated in the initial post that I don't always remember to click on on that checkbox, which is why I was wondering if the option to request read receipts by default was deliberately removed, or if it was a feature that "slipped through the cracks" during the forum upgrade.

The staffers don't have any additional/different options for PM receipts. I also forget to check that box...

So, would it be too much to ask for an administrator to reset the read receipt feature to allow people to request them by default, for those of us who forget to check the box each time we send a PM?

If you use Firefox and Greasemonkey, here's a script I wrote that will auto-check the read receipt box for you. I hate read receipts on PMs so I hope you'll just use the script instead
