Error from the rails' application environment screen

I'm reading the new rails sitepoint book and when i try to click on the link that shows: "About your application's environment" in the home page of a brand new rails application i get back the following error message in a pink box instead of versions of rails components that i have installed:

    Not Found
    `/rails/info/properties' not found.
    WEBrick/1.3.1 (Ruby/1.8.4/2005-12-24) at localhost:3000

You get this error message when webrick does boot but rails doesn't. Could you explain how you got to this error? Are you using instantrails? I've got better results with the normal rails version (install ruby and then type `gem install rails`).

i use rails on linux and i'm following sitepoint's rails book. I've installes rails with gem. After i've reinstalled a more recent version of gem and reinstalled rails with it the problem disappeared.

    I'm having a similar problem.
Running an Intel Mac OSX 10.4.8

    Just installed the following:
    Readline 5.1
    RubyGems 0.9.0
    Ruby 1.8.4
    Rails 1.2.2

I can launch WEBrick up successfully and view the index page okay,
but when I click on the "About your application's environment" link
I get the following error below in my Terminal screen:

    Code:
    dyld: NSLinkModule() error
    dyld: Symbol not found: _rl_filename_completion_function
      Referenced from: /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/i686-darwin8.8.1/readline.bundle
      Expected in: flat namespace

    Abort trap
Looks like something having to do with Ruby, but I have no clue.
    Any ideas??? Thanks!

Solved! I followed the steps from this forum thread (link) and everything works fine now... or for now.
