    slideshow fading problem

I'm found a script for a simple slideshow ... and everything works find except for the first time all the images load they all flash on instead of fade in. However once all the images have gone through they all fade in & out like they are supposed to.

I am not a javascript person at all so I have no idea where to look at fixing this. Any help would be appreciated.

the reason is simple... because it has to load before it can fade...

What you can do to solve this is make the first slideshow image just blank white pic... then delete or change the pic once loaded with a simple javascript.

I'm not really sure how to do that ... if anyone knows of a simple script that does this faded slideshow I am more than willing to change this thing.

So does anyone have an answer how to maybe pre-load all the images so they don't jump the first time through ... or another simple slideshow script?

Maybe if you will use insteadof that robust solution there (prototype, scriptaculo ) for one effect, it could be much more quicker. For example, if you take this http://slayeroffice.com/code/imageCrossFade/xfade2.html with the same problem and this css solution http://www.wellstyled.com/css-nopreload-rollovers.html you could combine them this way http://xy.wz.cz/fade/ It use just one image, instead of 5 and this image, is smaller about 55kb then that 5.
