    use that as your find and then end it normally

    wow cool thanks that works perfectly!!

    Ok a heres a question about adding pictures..
    I was thinking about adding some screen shots and I dont want to display the full size picture.. Just a small preview of the picture on the main blog page but if you click on it then a new window would open up displaying the full size screen shot.. basically what do you think?

    Are you wanting to do it the same way as this? Click button image tags come up and stuff?

    yes and no.. I will need to add pictures normally but I was thinking about adding a screenshot that looks like this

    and then you can click on it and it opens in a new window showing the full size..
    I know its not advised have new windows open.. If theres another way like if you rollover the small image and then an image box opens within the window.. If you leave the mouse over VIEW on my site you will see a JS window open up.. Im not sure what to do..

    Question blog picture expand?

    Hi everyone, especially webnoob!

    I saw this website today http://www.skaffers.com and when you roll over an image a speech bubble opens and the picture expands.

    I saved this index page of skaffers so I can use the code and apply it to my site .

    Right now I can't get the image to load when the mouse rolls over.

    I was also wondering how can I apply this JS to a picture I post in my blog ?

    Hi Mate,

    You might be better off posting this in the JavaScript forum, I have an idea how I can do it, but I am pretty sure there is some open source code that will already do this for you.

    Just start a new thread and see what they say

    Heres an update with the expanding image effect.

    I've made too examples
    http://www.jamesgardner.lincoln.ac.u...pand/easy.html
    - this page is called easy because all the code in easy.html

    http://www.jamesgardner.lincoln.ac.u...pand/hard.html
    - this is called hard because code is css/js are attached and theres alot of code compared to easy.

    What I'd like to know is; do you think its possible to upload an image using the blog entry form with these effects taking place? Similar to how you got me to upload my own faces!

    I've also been learning how to upload securely only accepting image extensions.

    Please let me know!
    Thanks!

    I'm trying to apply THIS to work in my blog entry form where the images uploaded will have the expanding image effect attached to them!

    Ive uploaded an image called cat_small.gif using the form in the code below that I got from a phpfreaks tutorial. I uploaded an image called cat_big.gif using my ftp program because I dont want the bigger image to appear in the blog entries, I only want it to appear on rollover.

    Right now the images upload to a directory called files and currently they dont appear in my blog entrys alongside text. Can someone tell me how to get the images to appear in the blog entry form alongside the text please!?

    I hope getting the images to load in the blog entry form is easy because I know my next question is harder!

    What I'm trying to do is get the javascript that does the expanding image effect on rollover to display all images with the suffix _big.gif on all images entered into the blog!

    Here's the code for my blog page. I've managed to add my own smiley faces and I hope I can apply something similar achieve this image expand effect! (The image upload form is at the end of the code)

    PHP Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function addsmiley(string) {

        var newtext = string;
        document.addthread.entry.value += newtext;
        document.addthread.entry.focus();
        return;

    }

    </script>

    <?php

    if (isset($_POST['submit'])) {

    $title htmlspecialchars(strip_tags($_POST['title']));

    $entry $_POST['entry'];

    $entry nl2br($entry);

        if (!
    get_magic_quotes_gpc()) {

    $title addslashes($title);

    $entry addslashes($entry);
        }

    mysql_connect ('localhost''USERNAME''PASSWORD') ;

    mysql_select_db ('DB_USERNAME');

    $sql "INSERT INTO php_blog (title,entry) VALUES ('$title','$entry')";

    $result mysql_query($sql) or print("Can't insert into table php_blog.<br />" $sql "<br />" mysql_error());

        if (
    $result != false) {
            print
    "Your entry has successfully been entered into the database.";
        }

    mysql_close();
    }
    ?>

    <form name="addthread" method="post" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['../PHP_SELF']; ?>">

    <p><strong><label for="title">Title:</label></strong> <input type="text" name="title" name="title" size="40" /></p>

    <img src="../images/smile.gif" width="15" height="15" onClick="addsmiley(':)')">

    <p><textarea name="entry" cols="80" rows="20" id="entry">  </textarea></p>

    <p><input type="submit" name="submit" id="submit" value="Submit"></p>

    </form>

    <form name="form1" method="post" action="" enctype="multipart/form-data">

          echo

            echo

            echo
    "Type: ".$_FILES['imagefile']['type'].""
            echo

            }
               else {

    "<br><br>";
                echo
    "Could Not Copy, Wrong Filetype (".$_FILES['imagefile']['name'].")<br>";
            }

    ?> </form>
