    Debugging in IE

    Hi

I created a small page which uses Javascript/AJAX and renders fine in FF.
In IE7, I get object doesn't support this property or method.

Theres no Error Console, but I thought the IE Developer Toolbar would have something, but couldnt locate any.

Is there any way to debug Javascript code in IE ?

    Thanx

Never Mind. But Im still hoping for an IE Addon that mimics FF's Error Console.

The problem was with req.overrideMimeType('text/xml'); which isnt supported by IE.

The reason for this was that Some versions of some Mozilla browsers won't work properly if the response from the server doesn't have an XML mime-type header. To satisfy this, you can use an extra method call to override the header sent by the server, just in case it's not text/xml.

    Solution:

Hang on a second. Bash IE all you want for being a non-standard CSS destroying debatably insecure train wreck of a browser, but...

    Microsoft Invented XMLHttpRequest

The specification (http://www.w3.org/TR/XMLHttpRequest/) does NOT INCLUDE overrideMimeType. It was added as a kludge for SOME Mozilla based browsers that had problems (as it says in your post).

So much for "standards based" browsers, huh.
