I need to remove a specific meta tag from one of my sites. It's over 500 pages and I want to figure out a way to do it all at one time. I can make front page go through and find them one at a time and replace them, but even then it is taking forever. Does anyone know of a way to just search through every page of a directory and remove a specific item?

Thanks so much for your help.

Probably more like to be available from http://www.download.com than anywhere else.

Download.com is a great place to find files if you know the name of the utility. Places like WinFiles.com or HotFiles.com are much better suited to finding a particular program when you only know what you want to do with it.

I created a similar thread earlier. Look for software that will find and replace in multiple files and you should be set.

Downlaod.com, Tucows.com and Winfiles.com can help you find what you need.

    Good Luck!

A freeware program that is listed in the SitePoint resources is called BK ReplaceEm.

You specify which HTML code to replace and with what.

You can find and download this nifty little program at: http://www.orbit.org/replace/

    HTH! (Hope This Helps!) Cheers!
