Title: Colors: The "How to choose colors" question
Hopefully the title of this thread has pretty much explained to you what my question is.
How do I choose specific colors for my website?
As of right now, I only know that I would like subtle blues, and subtle yellows on the site. The site has a white background, and the content text will be black. As of now that's all I know. If anyone can help me out, it would be much appreciated. Either tell me how you go about choosing colors, or point me in the direction of a useful resource
Thanks a lot!

I think it cut the title off because of the quotation marks...it recorded all of it up to that point...I could be wrong though.
As for color schemes...just use your common sense and ask around. Blue is known to work well on websites, and if you're going to use red a darker shade (like maroon) is probably a good idea.
I go through a few steps when choosing a color. First I reread this excellent color theory guide, then I make a logo or site in several different colors. I'm talking about maybe 6 or 7--green, orange, red, yellow, blue, cyan, purple, etc., and then I get other people to tell me which they like best from a distance AND which one they like best when they look at it close up.
