    Remote PHP Script Execution

I'm looking for the best way to execute a script on another domain to run in the background.

All the approaches I've tried so far (wget, curl, fsock) seem to stall the local script until the remote script finishes executing (5-10 minutes in some cases). The remote script is a transcoder, so it will always take that time to run (hence the need to have it run in the background).

    Any thoughts?

From the documentation it looks like that would kill my db connections, and instantiated classes would it not?
