    Help w/this fixed column

    This is my project
    http://trinitytrade.org/store/index.php
I'm trying to place the inner-menu div inside a left column with a fixed width of 190px and also a right border always extending to the bottom of the box, no matter how big the main content(right huge column) is.
"Oh, and Jenkins--apparently your mother died this morning."

Had the same trouble a while back -- ordered a few CSS books. Ugh, moving from HTML to CSS really sucks -- but, over the last couple of weeks I see where once you "nail it" CSS can be much more powerful.

What you may need to do is create three container divs. A contents div, first, then inside contents place your nav menu that floats left and the content div that floats right.

Otherwise, you might have to use a faux column to create that border.

That is the biggest problem moving from html to CSS is thinking in the concept that you are adding contents from left to right, then it wraps to the next line, where you add content from left to right.

(Worse thing, I stake out in the PHP forums helping other people out all the time, for many years. When I started to get into CSS and hit the CSS forum on here, just seems those "in the know" tend to have a snotty attitude towards newcomers.)

Some of us do. Others, like Paul and myself, are very helpful. If only life hadn't been keeping me so busy lately (and if I were to see some actual cash coming from it - sigh), I'd be able to return to my normal posting sprees here.

I don't know if it's intentional or not Dan, but you are never to shy to put your name up in lights so to speak
Others, like Paul and myself, are very helpful.
You are right though, you are both very helpful..
