newbie frames problem

methinks i was unclear on my intention... i wanted any links to load in full page, not just in the upper, (or lower), frame. when a visitor clicked a nav item, i wanted the frames to be done away with and a full browser page to return.

Just make the target of your links _top. Like this:

<a href="URL" target="_top">Link Text</a>

You mean that you want the page with frames to be closed? Then you'll have to include [target="_top"] or [target="_parent"] in the [a href] tag.

although i'm not too much of a newbie, it's been a while since i worked with frames and now have run into an embarrassing problem. i have two pages with frames, almost identically set up. upper frame is content and navigation, lower frame is portfolio images. all load just fine, but when i click a new link through the navigation in the upper frame, the new page loads only in that frame, leaving the lower images in place. can't remember how to overcome this, so all input is greatly appreciated.
