positioning layers for different monitor resolutions

I've been creating a page with layers in Dreamweaver and I have a problem with one of them floating in the wrong place when I check the page on monitor resolutions "800x600" and "640x480".
The errant layer contains an animated gif and the page is laid out using tables.
Anyone help?

that's certainly an impressive site - however I am not really a fan of the 'what's under this' style of roll over used in the DHTML site
