    If you designed http://www.darklights.com/ambar/index.html, then you're all set...it's pretty well done.

    Why not just ask one of the design/html guys you work with to sit down with you?

    Personal lessons would be a lot easier than having someone here mentor you.

    When you get stuck with a problem, then you can post it in a forum for some help.

    If you can't get someone you work with.. then grap a web design book. There are several recommended readings from the sitepoint.com network (this website).

    I used Laura Lemay's Teach Yourself HTML in 7 Days (not sure of the title)...worked pretty well.

    However, I have to agree: you'll be better off talking to a live person than using a book or advice from someone online...

    Just as the others have stated: Learn from a person, not a crowd. Just ask people to help you, they probably would.

    I'd help you if you need it. Contact me by e-mail abahta@flashmail.com or IM software.

    Good luck!

    Thx for your replies..

    The html designer which is my partner is working on many projects I told him to work on, also, he is from australia, so we meet for 1 or 2 hours a day. I wanted an html mentor on an IM program, not from the forums =)
    So if anyone has any IM program and wants to tutor me and help me learn, please do =)

    The first aspect is the aspect of self evaluation and objectives. As for the evaluation ask yourself the importance of html and why and what you want to use it for.

    From there, your objectives will be to fix yourself certain fundamentals such as paragraphs, line breaks, links, images integration, tables and probably the use of forms.

    Once you get all these things in order you can then seek the assitance of somebody to give you the hints and help you fix your problems. Count on what you can do for yourself in an organised way before seeking the help of others.

    I need someone to give me specific assignments or I won't do anything... I can write a basic page with tables and images, just not a very good looking one, and i just want someone to teach me

    In that case, you'll need to be specific: what parts of HTML don't you know? What do your pages look lousy? Are you unfamiliar with RGB values and such?

    RGB is unfamiliar to me. I know most of the stuff, I just need practice and I need someone to make me do it (with a wip if I might add =).. I just need the person to push me and give me specific stuff to do so I Have set goals.
    I want to be a webmaster and I want to be able to actively take parts in these forums except asking questions =)

    Uh, ok...here's a list...come back when it's finished!

    <UL TYPE=SQUARE>
    <LI>Become totally famliar with all table width and BG color tags as well as the width of rows and columns.
    <LI>Find an RGB color chart (search the web, shouldn't be hard) and memorize a few of the basic colors...green, red, blue, white black...just to get your mind into it.
    <LI>Learn all font tags...font face, size, color, etc.
    <LI>Starting toying around with graphics! It's quite difficult to make a site stand out without any graphics at all...
    </UL>

    Overall I can't just say "do this and you'll be ok"...take the initiative and buy a book...then set a quota of pages per day...HTML is not hard...it's just a matter of doing it...when I look back on it now I'm amazed it took me as long as it did...HTML is easy enough to have the potential to be learnt (that a word?) in only a day or two.
