Im getting scared about even STARTING adsense

With all these threads and threads being pinned about people being banned from adsense...its scared the crap outta me to know that i may just get banned for 'no reason'. I have to admit that 90% of the time, its the people that have not read the 'fine print', or just not adhered to the toc.

Are there more people being banned then there are happy users? Or is it the usual case that whereever or whatever you join there are 'glitches in the system' and these people being banned are just the 'glitches'?

Can someone reassure me, maybe a long time user, that adsense is a good thing, before i crap in my pants

    Thanks

    Post Fear Not

Don't be afraid. Start with a few pages, experiment, check your earnings daily, and if something looks out of the ordinary you can always notify Google of the same.

If your site has some value to it, all the better for you. Spammy sites are getting whacked -- they should -- while those sites that are legitimately and professionally set up make money provided they play by Google's rules.

Not likely. I highly doubt that is the case.

If the thought of getting banned if enough to make you crap your pants then maybe it isn't for you

Adsense is really simple, don't cheat the system, don't click on your own ads, don't cheat the system, and don't click on your own ads and you've got nothing to worry about.

The people who get banned are a minority, and vocal about it, people rarely complain about not being banned so you do not hear about it.

Why be scared? At the very least try it and make money while you can. I just throw all of my earnings in savings knowing that it could be gone at any time.

Haven't you noticed all the peole who get banned first say, "I didn't break the TOS!" However the ending result is them admitting the did break the TOS?

Follow the rules the way you should and you'll have no problems with AdSense.

I concur, I have been using them since 2003 and earned quite a bit in that time. Give it a try and read their TOS. They have many simple explanation pages if you are unsure.

Don't tell anyone you know at first if they are not net savvy. You don't want your friends clicking on your ads because they think they are helping you.

I've been with Adsense since day one and other than dwindling payouts my experience has been good. At one point I had someone clicking my ads, trying to get me booted from Adsense. I noticed it, notified Adsense immediately, they backed out the clicks and it's been smooth sailing since.

I wouldn't be scared of starting with Adsense but everybody should have more than one stream of income from their sites. Relying just on Adsense is not smart.

I've been with them for 3 years without problems but I wouldn't lose any sleep if they kicked me out tomorrow as I have plenty of other options for advertising.

If you have main US Traffic, I would go with YPN instead. You do not have to worry, as you may with Google. Still use Google a little bit, but no where near as much as YPN. Especially when I am earning close to a 5.00 CPM on some days.

Been with adsense a long while. Never had a problem with anything. I would say if you notice anything unusal about your ads notify them. As one poster above said i had someone click my ads repeatedly. I notified google and even though they deducted the revenue it was a smart move as i didn't get booted. Its not in their interests to be booting anyone off for 'no reason'

I think this thread is a good one to pin as there's one thread that is pinned that gives adsense a bad name. Especially as you come straight into the forum for adsense and that is the first thing you see in bold!! Anyway, thanks for the info people.
