joins causing slow downs?
I have been noticing a slow down in mysql when using joins to select data... is it just me or is it a problem??i dunno...

i'd have to see your table layout (either your CREATE TABLE statements or "DESCRIBE table") and an example of a slow query. how slow are they? if your tables are properly indexed, there shouldn't be much slowdown at all, even when joining a lot of tables. that's what it comes down to -- do you have the tables properly indexed for each query?
always use "EXPLAIN query" to see how indexes are being used for each table.- Matt ** Ignore old signature for now... **
