Bytes in a string

I want to get the amount of bytes in a string using javascript. The string will be data from an iFrame. I have found this (http://www.programmingtalk.com/archi...p/t-22265.html) bit of code where I can read the code, all I need to do is find out how many bytes the string of data has.

The string (character) length of a text file is the same as the number of bytes it occupies.
This is not a coincidence...
