Oh no. The problem about them is that you get hooked on them, and you know you're an idiot to watch them, but you can't otherwise. They are very well psychologically engeneered to create an ill addiction and cause a slow decay in your brain to make it vulnerable and inject with commercial material. It's all about selling stuff. Same happened to me with Mexican soap operas, which was even worse, in fact. I ain't gonna give in again, I'm not gonna watch a million episodes and seasons as if I've nothing better to do. Make it a single movie and I'm game.

You're right to a great extent. Actually, I'm not a TV fan at all. However, I don't think it's really bad to get some entertainment of about 45 minutes a week. Even if it lasted for three years. We all seem to get the habit of wasting (some) time on something. Think of video games. If you could argue they're beneficial is a sense, then some TV shows could arguably be called the same (certainly not most of them).
But Mexican soap dramas? You gotta be kidding, daemonado!
