    relative positioning

I'm making a drop-down menu for my site. I have a table that becomes visible when the user puts their mouse over the link, and that's all fine. The problem is that I don't know where I should originally place the table that pops up. I thought I could just put it at the top, that way the coordinates for the relative positioning would work no matter how much content is on the page, but even though it is repositioned, there is still an empy space at the top of the page. If I use absolute positioning, it doesn't do that, but the menu is centered so I have to use relative pos.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
    thanks

I don't have a page to show you atm, but I will in a day or two, so I'll post it when I can.

    thanks

I'll be waiting too. I am sure we will figure this out.

ok, sorry it took so long, take a look at this page

There's a table that would be used as the popup menu when the user puts their mouse over the first link. It was originally postisioned at the top because if I put it at the top it will move around when the amount of content changes. When I put it at the top it leaves a space. When I use absolute positioning it doesn't do that, but the page is centered so I have to use relative pos. How do I get around it?

I'm not going to post the code because it's kinda long (not really) and you can just view source anyways.

    thanks again

    I figured it out.

I just put the relatively positioned object within an absolutely positioned <div>
