    PHP/Oracle based document manager required

    Hi

I've been trying to find a script which allows users to upload documents to a website and share them with other users, built with PHP and ideally on an Oracle database.

The system doesn't need to be anything over complicated. All that is required is for files to be uploaded to folders with the ability to create sub folders. Another feature that is important is user permissions - I should be able to create users with full permissions (upload, change, delete) or users that can just view documents.

Does anyone know of anything that is free and/or open source?

    Cheers for your help.

I'm confused as to the combo you're looking for.

PHP - Generally OS and free
    Oracle - Generally giant $$$

I assume that you've got an oracle database license hanging around you're not using?

Might be hard to find something that fits that combo. Hopefully someone else can give you a hand.

if you know any kind of PHP at all (even if your ok at hacking at it)

    you can use the pear.php.net/mdb2

it shouldnt be TOO much ( i stress the too because ive not tried it personally but its part of a project i will be working on ) work to replace the DB connection strings with a oracle instance using MDB2. MDB2 allows connectivity to multiple types of database's

I agree its a strange combination. Its a project I'm doing at work, which we have an Oracle database setup and an server running PHP and Java. Unfortunately, while most our projects are based in Java, my expertise are rather limited so I'm building the website/app in PHP instead.

Thanks for the info. I know there is an Oracle API in PHP which looks quite easy to use too so its looking more and more likely I'll have to build this from scratch.

    Interesting.

I've ended up using a patch of WordPress in the name of Orablog for the CMS now but maybe I'll consider a move to Typo3 if a redevelopment ever occurs.
