    Question Microsoft Frontpage dying breed

I just read online that Microsoft is no longer going to publish Frontpage for amateur web designers. They feel it's obsolete thanks to blogging software. And that many web hosts are eliminating the Frontpage extension options by the end of 2009.

That means I need to find a new web design software that is just as easily to manipulate and use. I'd like to keep my extensions, too. So I don't lost page rank.

Anyone have any resources they can direct me to? Maybe content management software?

    Thanks in advance!

You won't lose PageRank because you use one WISIWYG editor over another. If you really want to continue using a WISIWYG instead of hand-coding, try looking into either Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Dreamweaver or the free alternative NVU.

I think Frontpage is being replaced by Sharepoint Designer which is packaged with Office 2007. I've been using it over the last couple of weeks, but I'm still dreamweaver fan, but I guess it is more targeted towards designing for sharepoint. Go for Dreamweaver, it kicks Frontpage.

The best way is, to make a "hand coded" code

When you haven't the time to learn html, i can just advise macromedia dreamweaver.

I'm sorry for mine englisch, but im german and very bad in it...

If you don't mind me asking, what part of Germany are you from? My folks (about three generations back, of course) were originally from Bavaria, which is why I'm asking.

    Good. It was awful anyway.

As Dan says, DW or NVU are better alternatives. You could also try MS Expression as well.
