    Dhtml???

I am not sure how to do the following, do I use CSS and Javascript?
I want want it so when you put your mouse over a word below the word comes the definiation. I could do this in Javascript with MouseOvers and Pictures, but I am guessing there is a better way to do it?

Not sure what you mean but you can get a title to come up with just plain old html by using this

    Code:
    <a href="blah.html" title="Arrrr matey!!">Groom.eif</a>
But if you want something else you could make 2 Css classes and use mouse over's but I am not 100% sure what you mean.

OK...for an example imagine something like this:
For SitePointForums you have your name on the left of the message
    sbdi

Let's say there was nothing under this no location or anything UNTIL you put your move over it then appears the stats:
    Registered: Jul 2000
    Location: Dublin , Ireland
    Online!

But only until you put your mouseover.

Check http://www.webmasterbase.com/article/625 its on the main page

    Try www.dynamicdrive.com as well

But what you could do is the 2 Css class thing. Make the class for when the mouse is off have the same colour as the bgcolor and when the mouse goes over it something that can be seen.

I didnt read that Sitepoint article btw. You could also use picture rotations.

    Wouldn't it be <a href="blah.html" alt="Arrrr matey!!">Groom.eif</a> ?

You could use the CSS display property with some script. Set the defualt diplay for the stuff below to display:none; then change to display:block; on mouseover.

Yes and no. Title is suppost to be used to pointmenus. Alt is more for people with disabilities. I forget the exact reasoning but 'now' title is the correct way
