I have these two sites, and would like some feedback on how to market them efficiently and turn them into profit sites with advertisements. They are both optimized for ad placement, and have had a lot of thought put into them by their creators - what do you guys think

You have not mentioned what type of sites you have launched. Anyway, if you are interested to advertise free, then you can try to place free classified sites or paid high traffic classified site like sulekha.com It is strongly recommended to start advertise pay per click program like google adwords.
