    Adsense & Proxy sites

Hello, I tried to sign up a proxy site for adsense and got a email back saying:

Page type: Your website is a type of website that we do not currently
accept into our program. Such websites include, but are not limited to,
chat sites, sites that drive traffic through cybersquatting, and sites
that use excessive keywords in the content or code of their pages.
Now, I've seen hundreds of proxy sites with adsense on them. I already have adsense account but want to know if I put adsense on my proxy site... will I be banned?

EDIT: Just realised this probably should of gone into the adsense sub-forum.

Well they've warned you that your site is unacceptable to them so if you were to put the code on it anyway and you got reported I wouldn't be surprised if you were banned.

Not many ad networks accept Proxy sites. The only ones that I know of are AdBrite, Mamma, and Revenue Pilot.

When I used to make proxy sites for quick cash, this was sometime last year, Google allowed you to have adsense on the main page, but not on any proxified pages. I would assume that is still the case.

I believe you can use it on the main page, just not on pages with the proxied URL. As with everything, you need to check with the ad network you plan to use.

ValueClick does not accept proxy sites. Nether does Casale, Tribal, or Burst. The fact that any CPM network accepts a proxy site is amazing. Most people who use proxy sites are usually looking at content not suited by a G audience. This is why I think most would not touch it. Some also use it to access My Space through the school firewall, so that is a possibility.

Actually I was talking to the rep from one web measurement company few years ago and was told that in US most proxy sites are used during work hours by people at work shopping online, reading news, etc.. who dont want their bosses to know what they are doing during work hours... not sure if trends changed but I assume they are still the same now except maybe kids going to myspace @ school...

Btw also some intresting stats most online shopping in US happens 9 to 5 during work hours

Yes, especially since they warned you already.

Yeah, that's what I figure, but you never know if they're working on changing that. They're getting rid of images by ads so proxy homepages could be next on the chopping block...
