    1st CSS layout eaten by IE- overflow issue

    This is my first time using an all css layout and i have tried to keep it simple. It works in Mozilla and Firefox but not IE.

    I suppose that's a common statement around here

    The issue right now is that the main content div is supposed to scale vertically with the page and use a scroll bar when the content is bigger than the available area. IE is just extending it below the base of the canvas.

    The doctype is xhtml transitional and it validates.

    the url is here if anyone here has time to take a look at it.

    You need to declare a height for IE since it doesn't recognizes regular height as min-height.
    Code:
    .content {
    height: 600px;
    min-height: 600px;
    overflow:scroll;
    }

    thanks!

    Shyflower: That is the kind of concise fix i was looking for but unfortunately, i don't know what the height will be so i can't specify it.

    All4nerds: Wow! you even optimised my code where it was already working. That works, but i can't say that i completely understand why it works.

    Still would have been easier with a hybrid tabular design, but we all have to take the plunge sometime and this will now be a snap to port over all the old content.
