    Why do you use NT?

May as well try to kick start this forum seem's fairly dead. So anyway what NT host do you use and why do you use them?

At the moment I am using www.Readyhosting.com and www.Endore.net I went with Readyhosting because of there price but havent been to happy with them because of there billing situation.

I went with Endore because they had CFM 5 on there server and price. The reason I use NT is for ASP and CFM I have never really gone beyond Access and MySql.

Well, the only valid reason I can see for using Windows NT or 2000 is ASP (I know, there's ChilliSoft ASP but that's a resource hog) and SQL Server. I suppose some people just won't use anything except Microsoft, so they will use NT/2000 aswell. That's just my 0.02 though.

(Off topic: [sbdi, did you SMS me earlier?])

Yeah I did text you .

Well I know CFM work's on other server's but to be honest I dont think I have come across one yet or at least one that is priced properly . I'm not sure about Chilisoft I've never used it but I think thats on version 2.0 of ASP. There can be many reasons for people using NT hosting same as many reasons for using *nix

Well, I have decided to host my entire network on Windows servers ar www.GearHost.net who so far, are an excellent company. I still have PHP and MySQL aswell as Perl, CFM, ASP and SQL Databases. So far, it's great.

They really do have excellent service, I've been with them since Friday night, but my friend who has been with them nearly 2 months says they are ane excellent host! I have gotten responses to all the questions I have asked within 4 hours, and I am currently in a conversation with the president / boss of the company!

I use a dedicated host at Dantor.com. I went with the company mostly on price and the previous track record. We had several sites on each of a dozen providers at one time or another through a shared hosting plan. When it became a case of 60+ sites, it made a lot more sense economically and from a development point to go with a dedicated.

We do use ASP applications plus open-source like php and mySQL, but that was only part of the reason. I find it much more productive to set-up, develop, and maintain a Windows server then Linux or Unix.
