    Two related questions:

    1. What coding dictates whether a link opens a site into the same browser-window, or, opens a second/new browser-window?

    2. If in non-frames view, what coding will change into frame's-view and then open a linked-site into a frame?

    Thanks in advance.

    Elton

    Only know the answer to your first q

    Answer is target="self" for same window, target="top" for a new window. There a few more but can't remember off the top of my head.

    regards

    1)If you want to a link to open a new browser window you can use code like this:

    <a href="http://www.thepage.com" target="new">

    2) My guess would be that you just link to a frameset page that indicated which pages to open in which frames.

    To be fully compatible you'll want to start those targets (like top and new) with a _. So new becomes _new, etc. I've had some trouble when I forgot the ___s.

    I always use: target="_blank" and that opens a new browser window.
