Smart Form fields

Has anyone seen Microsoft's search page? They have form fields that pop up or disappear depending on which item is selected on a drop down menu.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? Is it javascript? If yes, can you get me started? Maybe an array with...I don't know...

I just need certain options to "appear" when a certain other option is previously chosen.
