    Ajax problem [IE]

    I've been working on an Xmas viral type site to cash in with (long live the spirit of christmas haha).

    The site is basically just something where you can type in things for Santa to say and view the other entries that people have added.

    URL: http://www.rudesanta.co.uk (the domain is new so it might not resolve)

    The problem I'm having is in IE. If you click 'more' it should load a new entry every time you click it, but in IE, it loads a new entry then stays on that entry no matter how many times you click more.

    Any ideas?

    Also, how would I go about making the 'more' link load the base URL if the current location is 'http://www.rudesanta.co.uk/1/' etc.

    Thanks in advance for any help.
    hmm...

    well i am not sure if you wrote that javascript or not, but this is not univeral javasctipt. it does not work in opera.

    I believe your problem is cacheing. You can fix this simply by adding a timestamp to this line:

    Code:
    var loader = new net.ContentLoader('/ajax.php?action=random', UI.load.show);
    and make it look more like this:
    Code:
    var loader = new net.ContentLoader('/ajax.php?action=random&'+Date.parse(Date()), UI.load.show);
    This will cause it to return another $_GET variable, however it is only a timestamp, causing it to not cache.

    I coded it all myself but I'm pretty new to Ajax and I've only been playing around with Javascript for a while. More of a server side kinda guy.

    I'll give that solution a go and let you know. I should really download Opera so I can test things in it.

    Thanks for the help.

    Awesome, that sorted the problem.

    Do the changes in the speech bubble take a while to load, or is it just my poor internet connection?
