Working Harder or Slacking Off?

The holiday season for some of us is our best time of year to promote, but for others its nothing special. What I'm interested in for your site(s) is the following: (I've indicated answers for one of my sites as an example)

1. Are you promoting now more than usual?
Not really. I've done a Christmas Theme for my personal site, but thats likely to only cause a minor increase in traffic via word of mouth.

2. If no, do you feel you should be?
Yes, I do, but like many of you this season keeps me busy doing other things and personal sites get thrown on the back burner.

3. If yes, what are you doing?

4. What is your site about?
This site in particular is about solutions to boredom in particular it focuses on reviews to flash games.

Anyway just interested in seeing if I'm not alone if my lack of promotion despite a potentially high traffic season for many of us and what kinds of sites this is a high or regular traffic season for.

On the sites where I sell advertising services, I run a sale for existing customers (they see it after logging in), usually a bonus added to their orders during December. To the public, I throw a "Holiday Sale!" tag on a page or two of the site, without actually changing prices. That's about it.

That's illegal (and not even borderline illegal but completely).

Holidays I slow down but that because my product is business related.... I don't advertise much during the holidays for this reason. I find business are not spending much in December.
