    Web Site Does Houdini Impression

    My website has dissapeared!

    I was doing a validation check and making code amends to www.parkingrebel.com and its vanished on Internet explorer but still visible on firefox?

    The original address is:
    http://www.thestreettheatreadvertisi...bel_index.html
    www.parkingrebel.com is a redirection.

    Does anyone have any ideas into:
    1. Why its vanished
    2. Why I can cant change code in the redirection page:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title></title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    </head>
    <frameset rows="100%,*" cols="100%" border="0" framespacing="0">
    <frame src="http://www.thestreettheatreadvertisingcompany.com/parking_rebel/rebel_index.html" frameborder="NO"
    scrolling="AUTO">
    </frameset>
    <noframes>
    <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
    Redirection to <a href="http://www.thestreettheatreadvertisingcompany.com/parking_rebel/rebel_index.html">here</a>
    </body>
    </noframes>
    </html>

    This page (redirection page) is outside my mits to change which causes probs as it doesnt have a DTD thingy eg <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    How could I fix thisif it isnt a pge from another company?

    Any insights welcome....

    It fails in M$IE because is an evil browser…

    It is because the markup is shoddy you have the <style> outside of the head for starters I'll have a closer look later.

    HTML Comment the JavaScript like:

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
     <!--
    sfHover = function() {
        var sfEls = document.getElementById("nav").getElementsByTagName("LI");
        for (var i=0; i<sfEls.length; i++) {
            sfEls[i].onmouseover=function() {
                this.className+=" sfhover";
            }
            sfEls[i].onmouseout=function() {
                this.className=this.className.replace(new RegExp(" sfhover\\b"), "");
            }
        }
    }
    if (window.attachEvent) window.attachEvent("onload", sfHover);
     // -->
    </script>
    It then should reappear.

    As for the redirection issue I assume you mean there is a company you have paid to cloak your website using a frameset and you do not have the permission to edit that file?

    If so they best you can do is ask them nicely to add the code or change hosts or if you wanted to use a frameset then generically it starts:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Frameset//EN"
       "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/frameset.dtd">

    Thank you. i do agree the coding is shoddy I aint proud of it. I got the code from a third party and built around it.

    I am learning now how to build validated sites from the ground up, no more shortcuts, no more templates no more cheating as when something goes wrong I pay the price and have no idea how to fix it.

    Thank you again for your solution, very appreciated

    p.s. how do you make the code appear in a scroll down window?
