nested table background image problems

Im having a problem with a background image repeating itself in each column if its viewed In Netscape.
It looks great in Explorer (whats new) and as long as i dont use column tags, it looks good in Netscape also.
But as soon as the column tags are inserted all hell breaks loose heh.

heres two links to pages that show you exactly what i mean... Could someone tell me what im doing wrong please?

The only difference between the two pages is the column tags around the text <=(

I *think* this is your problem. See if it cures it.

You need to add:

background=""

to all but the outermost <td> tag.

I attempted to do what i thought you meant and was unsuccessful =(

Ive tried different combinations of the background="" in all the < td > tags and all the < tr > AND tables and am having NO luck!!!

Im quickly getting to be disgruntled ,sp toward netscape =)

What you're trying to avoid is the image being busted up, correct? This code corrected that problem for me...

lemme give it a shot,,,

so basically if i declare a background image and follow that with a nested table or two... I then have to make sure i declare blank background images on every tag that follows?

im not really sure why that is though <=(

It's just something I discovered while trying to solve the same problem some time back. Can't really tell you why, just the way Netscape parses the HTML I suppose.

Yes, what you outlined as what you'll have to do with nested tables is correct. To get them to work in Netscape, that is...
